What If . . .
I woke up thinking today, what if I was the wind
What type of wind would I be?
Would I be a gentle one?
Blowing softly on hot summer nights
Would I be a bit stronger?
Carefully carrying seeds to assist in the cycle of life
Would I be a furious one?
Throwing myself against all opposition
Would I be a violent one?
With destruction on my mind
Then I thought
What if I were the sun?
What kind of sun would I be?
Would I be as faithful as the one we know now?
Or would I be a lazy one?
The sort that wants to stay in bed
Would I say there is no hurry?
That I would rise and shine tomorrow
Or would I know that every day counts?
That life depends on me
THEN, I THOUGHT
What if I were GOD?
What kind of GOD would I be?
Would I be a forgiving one?
Or would I be the one to condemn?
Would I be fair or would I pick favorites?
I don’t know what kind of any of these things I would be
I suppose I would be the kind who wonders
